First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a blood test called carbohydrate deficient transferrin (CDT) can better detect chronic alcohol abuse in people aged 60 and older compared to standard tools. Researchers enrolled 194 older adults from hospitals and community groups in France. The goal was to see if CDT is more accurate than usual methods for spotting alcohol problems in this age group.
