Summary

This study tested a program that combines cognitive behavioral therapy (a type of talk therapy) with virtual reality to help athletes overcome fear and anxiety after ACL surgery. 60 professional football, volleyball, and basketball players took part. The goal was to see if this approach improves rehab adherence and psychological readiness to return to sport.
