Mind and muscle: new combo therapy targets stubborn constipation

Summary
This study tests whether adding cognitive behavioral therapy (a type of talk therapy) to standard pelvic floor exercises and lifestyle changes can ease chronic constipation caused by dyssynergic defecation. About 26 adults aged 18 to 55 with long-term constipation will participate. The goal is to see if this combined approach improves bowel function and reduces constipation severity.
