First seen Apr 15, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looked at whether adding cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to standard medication can reduce auditory hallucinations and inflammation in people with schizophrenia. Fifty adults who hear voices and take risperidone were split into two groups: one received CBT plus medication, the other medication alone. Results measured changes in hallucination severity and a blood marker of inflammation.
