New CBD lotion trial offers hope for debilitating scleroderma itch

NCT ID NCT07245238

Summary

This study is testing whether a lotion containing hemp extract (CBD) and urea works better than urea lotion alone to relieve severe itching in people with systemic sclerosis (scleroderma). It will involve 36 patients who will try both lotions to see which one better reduces itch, improves skin moisture, and helps with sleep. The goal is to find a more effective way to manage this common and distressing symptom.
