Cannabis-Derived drug tested for stubborn heart inflammation

NCT ID NCT05494788

Summary

This small, completed pilot study tested whether a purified cannabidiol (CBD) drug could help control recurrent pericarditis, a painful inflammation of the heart's lining. It involved 27 adults whose condition was not well-controlled by standard medications. The main goals were to check the drug's safety and see if it could reduce pain and allow patients to reduce their use of steroids.
