CBD may help social anxiety sufferers unlearn fear
NCT ID NCT05283382
First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a single dose of cannabidiol (CBD) can help college students with social anxiety unlearn a fearful reaction faster. About 160 participants will first be conditioned to fear a face paired with a mild wrist shock, then receive either CBD or a placebo before being exposed to the faces again without shocks. Researchers will measure fear through sweat gland activity on the fingers and self-reported anxiety.
