Summary

This study is testing whether cannabidiol (CBD), a compound from the cannabis plant, can help people with severe alcohol addiction stay sober after they leave a detox program. Researchers will give 210 patients either CBD or a placebo pill for 11 days during their hospital stay, along with standard care. The main goal is to see if the CBD group has more people completely avoiding alcohol for one month after going home.
