New Heart-Zapping procedure aims to tame stubborn irregular heartbeat
NCT ID NCT06144632
Summary
This study tested a medical device system that uses a catheter to apply targeted energy (ablation) to specific areas of the heart. The goal was to see if this procedure is safe and effective for people with a type of irregular heartbeat (paroxysmal atrial fibrillation) that continues despite trying medication. Researchers followed 237 participants to check for complications and see if the treatment successfully prevented the irregular heartbeat from returning.
