Silent danger: study scans for hidden blood clots in Kids' lifelines

NCT ID NCT04194736

Summary

This study aimed to find out how often blood clots form in the special IV lines placed in children in intensive care. Researchers used bedside ultrasound scans to check for clots in 81 children shortly after the line was placed. The goal was to gather information on how common this problem is and what factors might increase the risk, to help improve future care.
