New eye surgery gel tested for safety
NCT ID NCT04702802
Summary
This small study tested the safety of a new surgical gel (PRO-149) used during cataract removal surgery. It compared this new gel to an existing one (Healon® EndoCoat) in 36 patients with age-related cataracts. Researchers measured eye pressure and the health of eye cells after surgery to see if the new gel was as safe as the standard option.
