First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether drinking castor oil before a standard balloon procedure can shorten the time from labor induction to delivery in first-time mothers. About 142 women will be randomly assigned to receive either castor oil mixed with orange juice plus the balloon, or the balloon alone. The goal is to see if the combination safely speeds up childbirth.
