First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether drinking castor oil before a balloon catheter is placed can shorten the time from induction to delivery for first-time mothers. 142 women with full-term pregnancies will be randomly assigned to receive either the castor oil mixture plus the balloon, or just the balloon alone. Researchers will measure how long it takes to give birth and check for any side effects.
