Can kids outgrow cashew allergy? new study tests lasting protection

NCT ID NCT07158619

Summary

This study follows children who previously participated in cashew allergy treatment research to see if the protection lasts. All children will receive oral immunotherapy (eating small, controlled amounts of cashew protein) for about 8 more months. After stopping treatment for 4 weeks, doctors will test if the children can still safely eat cashews to see if the allergy protection is long-lasting.
