Summary
This study compares two methods used during carotid artery surgery to detect when the brain isn't getting enough blood. One method checks the patient's brain function while they are awake, and the other uses a light-based device on the forehead. The goal is to see if the light-based method works just as well as the standard awake check. The study involves 160 patients with narrowed carotid arteries.
