Tiny stent vs. pills: new battle to stop repeat strokes

NCT ID NCT07166731

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to prevent another stroke in people who recently had a minor stroke or eye artery blockage linked to a specific type of carotid artery disease. Researchers will compare two approaches: implanting a small mesh tube (stent) in the neck artery plus standard medication, versus taking medication alone. The goal is to see which treatment is safer and more effective at preventing future strokes over several years.
