New 3-in-1 device aims to make neck artery stenting safer
NCT ID NCT05845710
Summary
This study tested a new medical device designed to treat narrowed carotid arteries in the neck, which can lead to strokes. The device combines a stent, a balloon, and a protective filter into one system, aiming to make the procedure safer by catching debris. It was tested in 178 patients who were at high risk for complications from traditional surgery. The main goal was to see if the procedure was safe and effective within 30 days.
