Simple neck scan may predict dangerous drops in blood pressure during C-Section
NCT ID NCT07372313
First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a quick ultrasound of the carotid artery before a planned C-section can predict two common problems: a dangerous drop in blood pressure during surgery and a severe headache afterward. Researchers will measure blood flow in the neck of 90 pregnant women one hour before surgery and track their blood pressure and headache symptoms. The goal is to find a simple, non-invasive way to identify women at higher risk so doctors can adjust care to prevent complications.
