First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study was designed to test if measuring blood flow in the carotid artery (in the neck) could help doctors give the right amount of fluids during spinal anesthesia for knee surgery. The goal was to prevent low blood pressure, a common side effect of spinal anesthesia. However, the study was withdrawn before enrolling any participants, so no results are available.
