Summary

This study is testing a total artificial heart (Carmat TAH) in 104 people with severe, irreversible heart failure who are waiting for a heart transplant. The goal is to see if the device can keep them alive and well without major complications like disabling stroke or device failure for 180 days. The artificial heart is used as a temporary bridge until a donor heart becomes available.
