Summary

This study tested whether sending up to 10 caring postcards from a fellow Veteran (Peer Specialist) could reduce loneliness and improve mental health in older Veterans. Nearly 1,000 Veterans aged 50 and older who had missed VA appointments and felt isolated took part. Participants received the postcards by mail and completed surveys to measure changes in loneliness and emotional support.
