Parents hold key to helping kids overcome speech disorder
NCT ID NCT05916222
Summary
This study tests whether directly coaching parents during speech therapy sessions leads to better results for children with childhood apraxia of speech compared to parents who just observe. Forty children aged 2.5 to 8 years will receive standard speech therapy twice weekly for 8 weeks, while their parents practice with them at home. Researchers will compare how much children's speech improves based on whether parents received hands-on coaching or just watched the therapy sessions.
