New spectacle lens aims to halt myopia in teenagers
NCT ID NCT05818033
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This completed trial tested whether a specially designed spectacle lens (CARE1.02) can slow the progression of myopia (nearsightedness) in teenagers aged 12 to 17. About 796 teens in Guangzhou, China, wore either the CARE1.02 lens or a standard single-vision lens for one year. Researchers measured changes in eye prescription and eye length to see if the new lens worked better at controlling myopia.
