First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a four-session group therapy program called CARE-MI for healthcare workers who may be experiencing post-traumatic stress or moral injury from their jobs. The program combines several evidence-based techniques, including EMDR, acceptance and commitment therapy, and self-compassion exercises. Researchers will compare the therapy to usual care in 92 participants across multiple centers, measuring changes in PTSD and moral injury symptoms, as well as anxiety and depression, over six months.

- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could provide an effective, scalable group therapy to help healthcare workers cope with work-related stress and trauma.
