Can a shock team save more lives? major hospital launches review
NCT ID NCT03378739
Summary
This study is collecting information to see if having a specialized team to treat cardiogenic shock—a life-threatening condition where the heart suddenly can't pump enough blood—leads to better patient survival. Researchers will look back at the medical records of up to 3000 adult patients treated at the Inova Heart and Vascular Institute, comparing survival rates before and after the shock team was created. The goal is to understand which treatments and team approaches work best to improve care for this critical condition.
