New procedure zaps nerves to fix slow heartbeat

NCT ID NCT07468383

First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests a procedure called cardioneuroablation, which uses a catheter to destroy specific heart nerves that cause an abnormally slow heartbeat. The goal is to improve heart rate and reduce symptoms like fainting or dizziness. About 188 adults aged 18-65 with symptomatic bradycardia will participate. The approach aims to control the condition rather than cure it, as the underlying nerve activity may still change over time.
