Wearable patch vs. standard test: race to find stroke cause
NCT ID NCT05431972
Summary
This study tested if a wearable heart monitor (Cardea SOLO) worn for 7 days is better than a standard one-time EKG at finding brief episodes of atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) in people who had a recent stroke of unknown cause. Finding this irregular heartbeat is important because it helps doctors determine the best treatment to prevent another stroke. The study involved 257 stroke patients who had an enlarged heart chamber.
