Massive cancer database reveals hidden risk for rare tumor patients

NCT ID NCT07291752

Summary

This study aimed to understand if people diagnosed with a rare, slow-growing gastrointestinal tumor called a carcinoid are at higher risk of developing a second, different gastrointestinal cancer later. Researchers analyzed existing health records from over 93,000 patients diagnosed between 2000 and 2022. The goal was to calculate the statistical risk to help inform future patient monitoring and care.
