Advanced radiation tested for Tough-to-Treat head and neck cancer recurrences

NCT ID NCT04185974

Summary

This study is testing a specialized type of radiation called carbon ion re-radiotherapy for people whose head and neck cancer has come back or progressed after initial treatment. It aims to see if this approach can control the cancer while causing fewer severe side effects compared to standard radiation re-treatment. The trial will measure safety, how long the cancer stays away, survival, and patients' quality of life.
