Photo-Snapping app aims to simplify diabetes meal math

NCT ID NCT07380802

Summary

This study tested a new mobile app called Petit Cactus, which uses photo recognition to help people with type 1 diabetes count carbohydrates in their meals. Over 70 Canadian participants used the app for three months to see if it was easy to use and if using it was linked to better blood sugar control. Researchers also checked how accurate the app's carb estimates were compared to a standard dietary recall method.
