Modified immune cells target rare muscle disease in new trial

NCT ID NCT07391605

Summary

This study is testing whether a new cell therapy called Descartes-08 can help control symptoms of dermatomyositis and antisynthetase syndrome, rare autoimmune diseases that cause muscle weakness and skin rashes. The trial will enroll 60 adults whose symptoms haven't improved enough with standard medications. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the experimental cell therapy or a placebo to compare safety and effectiveness.
