Engineered immune cells take on tough lupus cases

Summary
This early-phase trial tests a new treatment for adults with severe lupus that hasn't responded to standard therapies. The treatment uses specially engineered immune cells from donated umbilical cord blood to target and attack faulty cells driving the disease. The study will enroll 48 participants to check for safety and whether it can bring lupus into remission.
