Engineered immune cells battle childhood cancer in groundbreaking trial

NCT ID NCT04787263

Summary

This study tests a personalized treatment called CAR-T cell therapy for children and young adults whose B-cell blood cancers have returned or resisted standard treatments. Doctors collect a patient's own immune cells, modify them in a lab to better target cancer cells, and then infuse them back into the body. The trial first aims to find a safe dose and then tests how well this approach works against leukemia and lymphoma.
