Chili pepper patch tested to soothe chronic back pain

NCT ID NCT06540456

Summary

This study is testing whether a skin patch containing a high concentration of capsaicin, the compound that makes chili peppers hot, can safely reduce chronic nerve pain in the lower back and legs. Up to 50 adults with this type of pain for over three months will apply up to four patches during clinic visits over a year. Researchers will track pain levels, quality of life, and any side effects to see if the patch helps.
