Scientists hunt for hidden cancer clues in Patients' surgical drain fluid

NCT ID NCT05338060

Summary

This study aimed to find biological markers that could help predict which stomach or esophageal cancer patients might respond well to immunotherapy. Researchers collected fluid from surgical drains and blood samples from 10 patients who had cancer-removal surgery. They analyzed these samples in the lab, looking for signals that might indicate if the cancer is likely to return early or stay away.
