Heat and inject: new combo aims to turn immune system against cancer
NCT ID NCT03993678
Summary
This trial tested a new two-step treatment for people with advanced solid tumors that had stopped responding to standard therapies. First, doctors used heat to destroy a tumor. Then, they injected a substance called IP-001 into the same area, hoping to 'teach' the body's immune system to attack any remaining cancer cells throughout the body. The main goals were to see if this combination was safe and if it could help control cancers like melanoma and soft tissue sarcoma.
