Memory study explores how kids, parents, and doctors recall cancer diagnosis
NCT ID NCT04392908
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looks at how children with cancer, their parents, and healthcare staff remember the conversation when the cancer diagnosis was first shared. Researchers want to find common patterns and differences in these memories. The goal is to better understand the emotional impact and improve how such difficult news is delivered in the future. About 70 participants (children aged 12-17, their parents, and doctors) will fill out questionnaires and have their language analyzed.
