New team approach aims to ease the agony of cancer treatment choices

NCT ID NCT07164365

Summary

This study is testing whether a special team-based counseling session can help reduce the stress and uncertainty that patients with advanced cancer feel when making difficult treatment decisions. It involves 62 adults with metastatic lung, breast, colon, prostate, or ovarian cancer who are eligible for a third round of treatment. Half will receive standard care, while the other half will get an extra consultation with a team of cancer, pain management, and psychology specialists to talk through their options and goals.
