Summary

This study looks at whether wearing contact lenses with a prescription that is slightly off (within 2 units of the correct power) still provides good vision and fit. About 38 healthy adults who already wear contacts will try two different lenses. The goal is to see if these off-prescription lenses could be a safe backup option when the exact prescription is not available.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

contact lenses

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show that slightly off-prescription contact lenses are a safe temporary option when the exact prescription is unavailable.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early study with only 38 healthy participants. It only tests lenses within a narrow range and may not apply to everyone or to long-term use.
