Light on the brain: could a simple lamp ease ataxia symptoms?
NCT ID NCT07296068
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether shining a special light on the head (called transcranial photobiomodulation) can temporarily improve balance and thinking in people with ataxia, a condition that affects coordination. Twenty adults with ataxia will receive either the real light treatment or a placebo, and their balance and memory will be tested right after. The goal is to see if this safe, non-invasive approach can help with daily symptoms.
