Virtual reality test: can a web course teach men to stop sexual assault at parties?

NCT ID NCT04912492

Summary

This study tested whether an online educational program could help young men recognize and safely intervene in situations that might lead to sexual violence, especially when alcohol is involved. Researchers enrolled 667 men aged 21-25 to use a web program called RealConsent2.0 and then measured their willingness to help in a virtual reality party scenario and through surveys. The goal was to see if training could overcome the barrier that alcohol creates, making people less likely to step in and help.
