Can a simple message stop unnecessary medical care?

NCT ID NCT07330492

Summary

This study is testing if a short, reassuring message given to patients before a doctor's appointment can change their expectations and reduce their desire for follow-up care like extra tests, injections, or surgery. Researchers will compare 144 adults with common muscle or joint pain who receive the message to those who get usual care. The goal is to see if this simple 'nudge' helps patients feel more confident about managing their symptoms with less intensive treatment.
