Scientists test if a calcium drip can tame sugar spikes

NCT ID NCT06942195

Summary

This study aims to understand if putting calcium directly into the first part of the intestine affects how the body handles sugar after a meal. Eight men with type 2 diabetes will have a small tube placed to infuse either a calcium solution or a saltwater control. Researchers will then measure their blood sugar, hormone levels, and how quickly their stomach empties a test drink.
