New approach tested to ease pain and speed recovery after C-Sections
NCT ID NCT05991466
Summary
This study tested whether adding a medication called dexmedetomidine to standard numbing techniques improves how mothers feel and recover in the first day after a planned C-section. Researchers compared giving the drug in the spinal block versus in a separate abdominal wall nerve block to see which provided better pain relief and recovery quality. The goal was to find a safer, more effective way to manage pain and support recovery after this common surgery.
