Scientists track hidden c. diff to stop it from coming back

NCT ID NCT06030245

Summary

This study aims to understand why C. difficile (C. diff) gut infections often come back after treatment. Researchers will follow 100 hospitalized patients with a C. diff infection, collecting stool samples to track exactly how and when the bacteria is cleared from their digestive system. By studying the gut's bacteria balance and immune response, they hope to find clues to prevent future recurrences.
