New Two-Pronged attack tested to beat stubborn vaginal infection

NCT ID NCT07247851

Summary

This study tested if adding a vaginal cream (clindamycin) to the standard oral antibiotic (metronidazole) works better for treating bacterial vaginosis (BV) than the oral antibiotic alone. It involved 100 women with BV and aimed to see if the combined treatment was more effective at relieving symptoms and preventing the infection from coming back. The goal was to find a better treatment option for a common condition that often recurs.
