NCT ID NCT07338019

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new method called the Buzdar Technique for safely removing chest tubes that have become stuck in the lung tissue. Instead of surgery, the tube is left in place for two weeks to allow healing, then slowly pulled out over several weeks. The goal is to remove the tube without causing a collapsed lung, air leak, or bleeding. The study will include 300 adults in Pakistan who have a chest tube stuck in the lung and are stable enough for this gradual approach.
