New cream aims to fade burn scars

NCT ID NCT06807021

Summary

This study is testing whether a cream containing an ingredient called FS2 (kynurenic acid) can safely reduce scarring after skin graft surgery for burns. About 70 adult burn patients will apply the cream to both the grafted area and the site where skin was taken. For the first 90 days, some will get the real cream and others a placebo cream, and then all will use the real cream for another 90 days to see if it improves scar appearance and quality of life.
