Ancient amazonian fruit shows promise in boosting strength for the oldest adults
NCT ID NCT07289867
Summary
This study tested whether a daily supplement made from buriti, a fruit from the Brazilian Cerrado, could help treat malnutrition in people aged 90 and older. Forty participants took either the buriti supplement or a standard vitamin mix for 12 weeks. The results showed that those taking the buriti supplement gained more weight, had a higher body mass index, and showed improved handgrip strength compared to the vitamin group.
