Summary

This study follows 136 children who were living in institutions to see how moving into foster care early in life changes their brain development, thinking skills, and mental health as they grow up. Researchers measure brain activity, thinking abilities, and emotional health over many years. The goal is to understand if early caregiving can reverse some of the harm caused by neglect.
